Description
Star anice closely resembles anise in flavor is obtained from the star shaped pericarps of the fruit. This is star shaped, reddish brown, consisting of 6 to 8 follicles. Each follicle is boat shaped 1 -2 cm long. This is used as a spice in the preparation of biryani and masala chai. Star anise are claimed to have certain benefits
